In 2000 at the age of sixteen, I started an apprenticeship working for a family friend as his window helper. As time went on, I slowly learned the craft of installing windows and paying great attention to detail. We were lucky to work for quite a few major window companies for the following 5 years until I landed a job with my brother-in-law as his lead installer. Being on my own for a year as an installer fueled the fire inside me to make this a lifelong career and own my own company someday. I sold my car and bought a van; I asked a close friend for a small loan and used the money to make 30,000 flyers promoting my own company name. I was so determined and motivated that I walked door-to-door for a year handing out those flyers and getting to know the people in my community. I knew that I could do a better job at installations! I could provide customers with a better price and service. Slowly but surely, the community started calling! We picked up momentum and worked steadily until the housing market crashed in 2008. In order to keep the bills paid, I got a second job as an Ironworker. I did my apprenticeship during the day and ran window estimates at night- installing the jobs on the weekends. Eventually, I was able to create Welsh Windows Plus as a corporation; it became a 'bona fide business'. And the rest is history! Welsh Windows Plus has continued to grow as we build more customer relationships; making their homes beautiful again is our way of being a part of the community. One house and one customer at a time.
Our company traces its roots back to 2003 in Oak Lawn, IL and since then has never looked back.
